Myrtle Beach, SC – A Hip Gay Lifestyle on the Grand Strand

The Grand Strand is a sixty-mile stretch of beach along the coast of South Carolina that goes from Georgetown,  South Carolina to the Little River.  The hub of this pretty area, which is sunny all year round and is perfect for swimming, boating, fishing and rain sports is the posh, very gay-friendly city of Myrtle Beach.  Myrtle Beach is like a flawless mini-city with all of the perks of a bigger place and all of the amenities of a smaller resort town.  If you love gorgeous thunderstorms and gorgeous sunsets you will love living in one of the affordable, glassy new condos along the beach that offer scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Although the entire city is, in general, LGBT-friendly, the main “gay drag” in Myrtle Beach is considered to be at the intersection of Main Street and King’s Highway.  This is where you will identify most of the lgbtq+ cafes and bars.  The city also has its own leather gay club called CLAWS and it is home to both the Myrtle Beach Identity festival Parade and the huge South Carolina Pride Parade.

Living here would be prefer living in a stunning spa resort all

Gay Beaches in Algarve

  • Praia de João de Arens
  • Once a well-kept secret and almost exclusively gay, this stunning beach is now a naturist’s paradise attracting as many straight people as gay. Hidden at the bottom of a pine-covered headland, it has two sides separated by a cliff and linked by a tunnel carved by nature. After carefully accompanying a trail down the cliff, you arrive at the western side. This is where most people stay, sunbathing or swimming nude. You shouldn’t go away without checking out the eastern side, as it offers beautiful views of the coast all the way to the capital of Portimão. Before or after your day at the beach, also grab some time to like the view from the clifftop. The rock formations, the views, and the atmosphere make this one of the most affectionate beaches in Algarve.

    Location: Alvor
    Where to Stay: Prainha Clube

  • Praia do Submarino
  • When Praia de João de Arens is too crowded, many people head to this neighboring beach. That is, if the tides allow them. Named after a submarine-shaped rock emerging from the water, it’s another beach hidden at the bottom of a cliff, but it disappears at high

One of these is the 12th Street Beach. Located in famous South Beach at 12th street and Ocean Drive, this is a popular hang out for the gay men who are local to the area as successfully as visitors. It is not limited to the men, though. Lesbians and Straight men and women also hang out there. This is a amazing place for people who like a good party, as the people who hang out here often spend more time mingling with fellow beach goers than catching some rays.

Haulover Beach Park is another good place for male lover men and women to gather as well. More than just a place to get a tan, you can barbeque, engage tennis, or go for a bike ride. You can also rent a kite or go kayaking. Warning for the parents out there: there's also an area of the beach where clothing is optional so you
