Mike Beuttler raced against many of the all-time Formula 1 greats in the early s - and then disappeared.
Even the British driver's closest motorsport friends heard nothing from him over the final 14 years of his life.

Beuttler remains the only known queer male driver to own competed at the uppermost level of motorsport.
He did so at a period when F1 was an especially macho environment. James Hunt, the world champion, famously had the group of words, 'Sex, the breakfast of champions' embroidered on his overalls and many drivers had reputations for entity womanisers.
There were no organisations such as Racing Celebration, which launched in to promote LGBT+ inclusivity in motorsport.
So how did his friends view him?
"Mike gave it absolutely everything on track - he wasn't a natural talent but he worked hard," former motorsport journalist and companion Ian Phillips told BBC Sport.
"I knew he was gay, but it didn't matter in my world."

Former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher has announced he is in a same-sex relationship.
In a post on Instagram on Sunday evening, Schumacher common a message with a picture of himself and his partner, Etienne, with their arms around each other.

Schumacher now works as an F1 pundit for Sky in Germany.
