Despite comprising more than half of the woman loving woman, gay, and bisexual people, bisexual people are under-reported or poorly reported by media, erasing their presence as well as their specific experiences and challenges, leading many people who are bisexual to notice misunderstood and isolated.

An adjective used to describe a person who has the potential to be physically, romantically, and/or emotionally attracted to people of more than one gender, not necessarily at the same moment, in the same way, or to the similar degree. The bi in bisexual refers to genders the same as and different from one&#;s hold gender. Do not record or imply that bi means being attracted to men and women. That is not an reliable definition of the pos. Do not use a hyphen in the pos bisexual.

What does bisexual mean?
In simplest terms, a bisexual person is someone who can be attracted to more than one gender; but adults and youth who name as bisexual sometimes detail themselves differently. Many attracted to both genders adults have embraced the definition proposed by longtime bisexual leader, national speaker and award-winning activist Robyn Ochs:
"I call myself bisexual person because I acknowledge that I have in myself the potential to be attracted - romantically and/or sexually - to people of more than one sex and/or gender, not necessarily at the alike time, not necessarily in the same way, and not necessarily to the same degree."
This broad definition of bisexuality includes people who identify as pansexual, queer, fluid and other labels that suggest potential attraction to more than one gender.
How many people are bisexual?
According to the Williams Institute and the HRC Foundation's own explore, studies suggest that about 50 percent of people who identify as either gay, lesbian or bi, identify as bisexual. This makes the bisexual population the single largest community within the LGBTQ+ community.
Can a transgender person also be bisexual?
Bisexual people have always been a driving force in the LGBT community and are leaders within local, regional, and national organizations and issue-based campaigns. Every day, bi people labor side by side with the larger LGBT group to affect change and equality.
What does it represent to be bisexual? Some people who have the capacity to be attracted to people of any gender choose other words to describe their sexual orientation such as: pansexual, pansexual, polysexual, omnisexual, fluid, or queer. Some people prefer to avoid any label at all. Given the lack of comprehending of even the pos bisexual, it&#;s best to only use alternate words if someone specifically self-identifies that way and asks for their preferred phrase to be used.
