The guide offered an enriching and inclusive experience, focusing on LGBTQ+ past and present in Portugal through a thoughtful, educational lens. Designed with an emphasis on community-based and decolonial perspectives, the tour did more than just emphasize key historical points; they also explore the intersections of gender, sexuality, and colonialism in Portugal’s past. We visited a range of queer-owned spaces, from nightlife venues to immigrant and BIPOC-owned businesses, adding another layer of intentionality to the experience. The tour felt safe, respectful, and inclusive, particularly for trans individuals and gay women.We highly recommend this experience.
